Columns listed are Group Name, Web site, User ID, Password, Description, Date Changed, Prior User ID, and Prior Password. Function buttons let you easily hide the Password and Prior columns. You can also export all files with a click, or move to the first or last record with as much trouble. If Secrets sounds like a specialized spreadsheetlike app, that’s intentional. Save for a function to automatically close the app after a select number of seconds, there isn’t anything about Secrets that isn’t available with your generic spreadsheet application.

The program does include a Password Generator, but that function falls short of similar freeware apps.

You can even customize icons and add 1778 custom screensaver. Security options are also plentiful and let you apply administrator alerts, disable Internet Explorer features, and even hide specific drives.

Most of the tweaks that we applied took immediate effect, and others required either a log off or restart the computer. The main drawback to the program is that it isn’t password-protected. That means that anyone can go in and change your settings. We were also disappointed to find that it doesn’t come with a Help menu.

Rather, you have to visit the publisher’s site, which holds only a blog that doesn’t offer much information. Thanks to the easy-to-use design, though, even novices should have no problem figuring out how to use the program.

Maxthon 2 features loads more customization ability, but sacrifices a bit of stability for the privilege.

Killing processes with a dedicated app is a very effective way of clearing up frozen programs.

Unfortunately, it also makes it dangerous, which is why the developers of Process Killer have decided to use a nuclear symbol as their logo. Process Killer is a relatively simple app that aims to do the same job as System Manager, but more quickly and efficiently.

There is only one main interface – the app lists all the programs running on your system on the left, 23 basic technical data about a given process on the right and the option to Kill Process on the top toolbar.

Beyond this, Process Killer has no other configuration options. There weren’t too many troublesome apps on my computer when I tested this, but the programs that I did test were terminated without hesitation.

Process Killer doesnt provide any warning or specific information about what effect killing a process will have, which 24 why the developer warns that the app is only for advanced users.

It’s a pity then that it doesn’t provide some more advanced options, something that advanced users would surely appreciate.
