I uninstalled old version, disconnected printer power and USB.
Then install the vista driver only plugging in the USB cable when prompted by the software. Actually, it caused my computer to reboot in safe mode. Anyhoo, when I was done, I could print a test page.

Went to command prompt and typed the lexbces -u and there was an error message that said that this was “not recognized as an internal or external command, operatable program or batch file. I lexmarj those alone and moved nothing. This is very frustrating. Thank you for your post – I had gone through Lexmark’s tech support via chat several times and nothing worked. However, the lack of that file did NOT stop me from getting the printer working. The only question I have is – I moved all the lx files from the C: I really enjoy this printer and sure don’t wana throw it in the pile of obsolete equipment yet.
